OBAL A DESKA VYBORNY STAV
MADE IN CANADA
Of all of the Atomic Rooster albums that the late great Vincent Crane left behind, I honestly think "Headline News" was the best and most heartfelt. Despite everything that can be said negative about this final effort, most of it admittedly true, it's how I hear and interpret these songs that has always saved the day. It's difficult to explain; sometimes, if not usually, the stuff that means the most to you is never easy to explain, and so goes "Headline News". While I would not put this in the cd player as a first choice to people unfamiliar with the Atomic Rooster, I wouldn't hesitate to put in on second. Electronic prog? Why the hell not? Look at all the roads the Rooster had already run down.
Who knows what direction Crane would have taken this band had fate not sadly intervened. But as a last testament, "Headline News" is indeed worthy. Hell, it's more than worthy. To me, it's a masterpiece.
Machine, Dance of Death, Carnival - nice songs. And the 80s is somehow very nice in this album.
This was the last gasp for the Rooster, and at it's best it sounds like a cross between later period Pink Floyd and Hawkwind.
