Despite the huge success of “Restless and Wild” and “Balls to the Walls”, the German Metal band Accept decided to change their style slightly. For the first time they collaborated with Dieter Dierks, who produced the lion’s share of the Scorpions albums.
“Metal Heart”, the sixth studio album of Accept is more melodic and catchier than previous albums of the band but still a heavy LP though.
Udo Dirkschneider, the singer of the band said that Dieter Dierks wanted that Accept to sound like the Scorpions but he forgot the roots of Accept from time to time. On the other hand Dierks was great at arranging the songs and this made up for the musical differences the band had with Dierks, who only produced one more Accept album; “Eat the Heat”, which was the one without Udo.
Even tough the album is not as heavy as the previous albums the fans really loved the album and it became another classic. In my opinion the album is not as good as the two mentioned records but still a great album with many classic metal tracks.
My favorite tune is probably the catchy anthem “Midnight Mover”. Other great tracks are “Up to the Limit”, the anthem-like “Wrong is Right”, “Screaming for a Love-Bite”, “Living for Tonite” and the melodic “Bound to Fail”.
The title track is also a fantastic track and features a great and melodic guitar solo, which is audible inspired by Beethoven’s “Für Elise”.

Now, Metal heart from 1985 is my fav all times Accept album, it rocks from start to finish and has the best production and sopund from all Accept albums from their glory days. This is a return to raw metal like on Breaker, with Hoffman at the helm and UDO shining all throughout. So, a masterpieces of the genre for me and a favourit big time. Every tune is highlight with the legendary title track. 5 stars for sure.
